Sporting Club Jacksonville, or “Sporting JAX” is the club founded in 2020 by a local Jacksonville ownership group and named in collaboration with the First Coast community in 2023.
The club’s goal is to operate a men’s professional USL Championship club, a women’s professional USL Super League club and a USL Youth Academy through work with city and county authorities to develop a 15,000-capacity community stadium and training facilities to host the clubs in Northeast Florida.
The ownership group is led by successful business entrepreneur Ricky Caplin and includes sporting legends Tim Tebow and Fred Taylor, as well as experienced professional soccer executive Steve Livingstone and local community innovator Tony Allegretti. Additionally, University of Florida women’s soccer coaching legend Becky Burleigh leads Sporting JAX’s efforts as a consultant to their women’s pro team.

OUR IDENTITY

THE NAME
Our Club was named in collaboration with our community following extensive research and consultation across the entire First Coast.
The community asked that our club be inclusive and authentic, and our badge represent all teams that wear it – women’s and men’s. We play for the entire Northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns) region, proudly known locally as JAX.
Our ambition is to be a Sporting Club for the entire community.
Our stadium and facilities will reach out beyond soccer to other sports and other sporting communities. Sporting JAX exists in part to advance soccer and an equal playing field in our community as well as provide a “sporting chance” for the underserved and marginalized.
We will lift trophies as well as voices. We are Sporting JAX.
THE CREST
Our visual identity was designed by Matthew Wolff. The badge is presented in two forms. First as our “official” and more formal club badge – Sporting Club Jacksonville. This is used when referring to the overall organization.
Badge Elements: A circular design to symbolize our inclusivity. The primary blue is bisected by the colors of yellow over orange at the middle to represent our famous Jacksonville sunrises that splits the circle equally to represent the equality of our teams. Our JAX shield is the bold focal point at the heart of our badge.

OUR MOTTO

“Lift Every Voice,” the club’s inspirational motto, was derived from the famed hymn “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing.” Composed on December 12, 1900 by Jacksonville brothers James Weldon Johnson and John Rosamond Johnson, the song was composed to honor the birth of President Abraham Lincoln and first performed by schoolchildren at the Stanton School in Jacksonville.
It has become known and celebrated as the Black National Anthem, and is a history lesson, a rallying cry and a pledge of unity. The motto serves as an inspiration for the club and honors the profound influence of local musicians and artists in the community.
It also embodies the club’s commitment to lifting every voice, both on and off the field of play, by creating experiences that celebrate diversity, ally with those who need teammates and provide a place for all to gather.
